44 more Russian airlines' aircraft were identified, and the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol sent the court appeal in order to seize the aircraft, which violated the procedure for entering/exiting the occupied peninsula as well as international flights’ rules.
The Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (headquartered in Kherson) investigates criminal proceedings on the facts of violations by officials of foreign airlines of international flights' rules as well as the procedure for entering/exiting the temporarily occupied territory (Part 2 of Art. 332-1, Art. 334 and Part 1 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Since March 2014, Ukraine has closed the airspace over the occupied Crimean peninsula as it was impossible to oversee safety of flights, provide air traffic control, and to ensure safety of airports in the occupied territory of the Crimean peninsula. Nevertheless, about 109 aircraft of Russian airlines violate the international flights' rules as well as the Ukrainian laws by carrying out regular passenger flights to the occupied peninsula. All of them have been identified and seized.
